THE FRIENDS OF PLYMOUTH GREAT WOOD

Plymouth Great Wood Task Group

Activity days are usually arranged under the auspices of Park's Rangers on a monthly basis. The last was on Saturday 19th July when we cleared some overgrowth from one of the ponds. We normally meet outside North Ely Youth Centre, Pethybridge Road at about 10:00am and finish at about 12:30pm. Please make a point of wearing strong footwear like wellies and suitable clothes because you're going to get mucky!

Children are very welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

The group has been nominated for a Community Safety Volunteer of the Year award by the local police. The awards ceremony will be on the evening of the 25th September.

Much work has yet to be done in respect of the clearance of the remaining refuse and an invasion of Himalayan Balsam, and attempts will be made on these in due course.

If you'd like to get involved then contact us at paulkemble@hotmail.com for further details. Don't forget to include your e-mail address.
