The wrecks above are rusted indicating the length of time that the metalwork has been exposed to the weather. A pause of about a year ended suddenly on the fifth 'anniversary' of the phenomena (below onwards), almost to the day. By the end of September 2007, the number of wrecks had exceeded 160.
